Your squats stay on your phone. Here is the rest.
Last updated 26 Oct 2026
The short version
Squatlings counts your squats with your phone's camera, on your phone. No video or photo ever leaves the device. What we keep is the count and when it happened, your name, your Squatling's look and the squad you race with.
Who is responsible
Squatlings is operated by Teqqed BV, Van Kleffenslaan 5, 8442 CW Heerenveen, Netherlands. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions or requests: hello@teqqed.com.
What we store
- Account: your email address, or the identifier Apple or Google gives us when you sign in with them. Sign-in codes are sent by email through Resend.
- Profile: the display name you choose, your Squatling and its look, and your time zone.
- Activity: each counted squat as a time and a depth value, grouped into sessions. Never images.
- Squads: who is in your squad, invite codes you create and the daily race results.
- Purchases: your coin balance, what you unlocked, and whether Squatlings+ is active. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see card details.
Why we use it
We use this data to run the app for you: your account, counting and history, races with your squad, your coins and what you bought. That is necessary to provide the service you sign up for. We also keep basic technical logs to keep the service secure and working, which is our legitimate interest.
We do not sell data, run ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database), in the United States.
- Superwall (paywalls and purchase status). It receives an anonymous app user id and, after sign-in, your account id.
- Apple and Google, for sign-in and payments. Resend, for sign-in emails.
Where data goes outside the European Economic Area, these providers use the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
What your squad sees
Your display name, your Squatling's look and your daily squat count. Nothing else.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account in the app (You, Settings, Delete account), we remove your profile, squats, squads you were alone in, purchases and sign-in links right away. Squads you created with others pass to the longest-standing member. If you are one of the first 500 accounts, the record that a place was taken stays, without any personal data.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and you can object to or restrict how we use it. Email hello@teqqed.com from the address you signed in with. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the authority where you live.
Age
Squatlings is for people aged 16 and older, as set out in our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app when the change matters.
